About me
I’m a writer and consultant with three decades experience working in and with local government and the public sector. I have led the development of policy and strategy across children’s and adult’s services, and supported collaboration across public, voluntary sector and community organisations. I have written for publications including The Guardian, Independent, Huffington Post, International Business Times, The MJ , Community Care and spiked. I have also featured as a commentator on Sky News, GB News, Talk TV, BBC Radio, BBC1’s Sunday Morning Live, and Ireland’s Newstalk. I am contributing co-editor of The Future of Community (Pluto, 2008) a contributor to The Future of the Welfare State (Axess, 2017) and author of The Crisis in the Classroom: How the special needs explosion is destroying education (Luath Press, 2026).
