Dear School ... please stop engendering confusion in our kids
A letter, a template, a plea for sanity
I am writing in response to your email titled 'Different Families'.
There seems to be some confusion. I am not clear what telling children untruths about gender pronouns has to do with British Values, Democracy, Liberty or Mutual Respect. But I am very clear that the rule of law is now decided on this matter [even if the government’s RSHE guidance confuses matters further]. Of course we must be tolerant and respectful towards each other, and I expect my children to learn that. But, as the Supreme Court has ruled, while a tiny number of adults may choose to seek gender reassignment, nobody (never mind children) can change their sex.
I don't understand what your assembly has to do with 'different types of families' or those who 'love those of the opposite sex'. The use of pronouns has nothing to do with sexual orientation. Indeed, as the Cass Review found, a large proportion of children referred to the GIDS Clinic at the Tavistock were gay or autistic. By encouraging them in their identification with the opposite sex, these young people (rather than being understood to be homosexual or neurodivergent and accepted for who they were) were put on an irreversible course of puberty blockers and surgery.
To encourage children to use pronouns signifying that they identify with, or accept that others can identify with, an imagined gender other than their biological sex is to communicate a fundamental untruth. The ruling of the Supreme Court confirmed that the word 'woman' refers to a biological woman not somebody who simply uses the word 'she' or 'her' to refer to themselves. The same applies to the words 'boy' or 'girl' - these are biologically determined or, you might say, God-given.
Can you please confirm that you will be making this clear to all children attending [the school]. No child should be taught otherwise. To use gender pronouns is not to promote 'kindness' or 'tolerance' but to spread confusion in young minds or, worse, contribute to the kinds of dynamic that has seen vastly increased numbers of children being referred for gender reassignment.
I would, finally, like to make it absolutely clear that not only do I think it outrageous that a Church of England School, indeed any school (never mind a primary school), should see fit to teach children such an obvious, and damaging lie - I am, of course, insistent that you remove my children from being exposed to it.
I look forward to your response.
Thank you
